Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Wisdom teeth are molars that grow between the ages of 17 and 25 years. Most people have two upper and two lower wisdom teeth, but some can have just two and others, none at all.

WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT ARE WISDOM TEETH?

If your teeth are well-aligned and healthy, you can generally keep your wisdom teeth. However, if they are impacted or misaligned, they can damage existing teeth. Sitting far back in the mouth, wisdom teeth are difficult to clean. This can lead to build-up of tartar and plaque, and even decay.

The Service

We can conduct straightforward wisdom teeth removal in the comfort of our clinic. For more complicated wisdom teeth removal, or if general anaesthetic is required, we refer clients to a trusted specialist.

PRICING

The cost of wisdom teeth extraction will vary from person to person. We quote for wisdom teeth removal after making a thorough examination of your mouth and consulting with an OPG X-ray, to ensure accuracy and transparency in our pricing. If you have existing X-rays which are less than one year old, you’re welcome to bring them along to your consultation.

How do you know if your wisdom teeth are infected?

Symptoms may include:

  • Reddened, inflamed gum alongside the wisdom tooth
  • Swelling
  • Soreness
  • Pain
  • Pus from the gum line
  • Difficulties with opening your mouth and swallowing
  • Fever

What is an impacted wisdom tooth?

Impacted wisdom teeth are those which have not yet erupted in the mouth. This can be caused by a physical barrier, like another tooth, or when the wisdom tooth is angled away from a vertical position.

Impacted wisdom teeth may need to be removed. If your teeth are painful, we recommend a thorough examination with one of our qualified dentists, who will thoroughly examine your mouth and develop a personalised treatment plan.
